π️ A Day at Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali — With Guddu & Avi

Some days are not just trips — they become memories stitched into your soul. One such day was our little escape to Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) in Borivali, Mumbai, with my two constants — Guddu and Avi.
We set out early, armed with snacks, laughter, and that unspoken bond we three share. The cool morning breeze, the rustle of leaves, and the hum of city life fading behind us — it was perfect.
π️ First Stop: Kanheri Caves
As we climbed toward the Kanheri Caves, history began to whisper. These ancient rock-cut Buddhist caves, nestled inside SGNP, felt like walking into a time capsule. Guddu was curious, Avi took photos like a pro, and I just stood still — in awe of the carvings, the silence, the sheer presence of those stone walls.
We sat at the edge of one of the caves, overlooking the greenery, munching on sandwiches. It felt timeless. Like the caves had paused for us.
π¦ Next Adventure: Lion & Tiger Safari
The thrill in our hearts when the safari van started rolling was unmatched. The lion and tiger safari is a short ride but filled with anticipation. Avi joked we were on a mini jungle expedition. Guddu kept peeking out (safely!) while I held my breath every time the van slowed near the majestic beasts.
We spotted a lion lazing under a tree and a tiger walking past like he owned the world. And honestly, he did — in that moment.
π A Quick Visit: Tiger Orientation Centre
Before leaving, we visited the Tiger Orientation Centre. It’s a small museum-like spot inside the park that shares facts and conservation stories. We read, clicked a few pics, and left with a deeper appreciation for these creatures and the people protecting them.
π What This Day Meant to Me
This wasn't just a picnic or a touristy visit. It was a pause.
A deep breath.
A walk through ancient paths and wild trails — with two people I love.
If you ever find yourself in Mumbai and need a break from the chaos, SGNP is your place.
And if you can, go with your people. The ones who make every trip ten times better. πΏ
